Canon Pixma MP460 is an all in one photo centric inkjet printer targeted towards the photo centric audience with the light use of the printer. Pixma MP460 is bigger and more voluminous than the older Pixma MP450 model; you will need to make more space available for this printer on your desk. Pixma MP460 uses two Canon MP460 ink cartridges for printing.

Pixma MP460 can work without any problem with Windows as well as Macintosh operating systems. The color technology used in Canon MP460 ink cartridges more advanced than used in the older model of the same series. Pixma MP460 can recognize the type of text, photo, or both and offers best copying with optimized results. Canon Pixma MP460 is also a bit faster printer than the Pixma MP450 inkjet printer model.

Pixma MP460 also has a port for optional wireless printing, which is a step up functionality. Canon MP460 also has media card slots for printing from media cards of different types. Pixma MP460 also has a PictBridge support with which you can print your photos directly from a digital camera. Canon Pixma MP460 has the same style A4 sized flat bed scanner. Scanning abilities of the scanner with a Pixma MP460 are just nearing the average industry inkjet printer. Scanner of Pixma MP460 is good for MP460 but it does not go very well with the color handling and also lacks better paper handling options. Pixma MP460 uses the same type of ink cartridges that the older version used. There are two Canon MP460 ink cartridges used in Canon MP460. One of the Canon MP460 ink cartridges is black while the other one is a tri color cartridge. These Canon MP460 ink cartridges print reasonably well above average but Canon Pixma printers with individually replaceable Canon ink cartridges have much less cost per print. With one color of the three in the tricolor cartridge consumed, you will have to change the entire colored ink cartridge which is painfully costly.
Canon MP460 ink cartridges with this entire expensiveness still do a good printing job of printing photos and text. Pixma MP460 is an excellent printer considering the price that you pay for a Canon MP460 as not many inkjet printers have that many options available in this much price.
